Who is a Certified Nursing Assistant?
Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) are defined by law as people who assist licensed nursing personnel in the provision of nursing care.
The authorized duties for CNAs include assisting with their clients’ daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, transferring, ambulating, feeding and toileting.
CNAs also perform tasks such as measuring vital signs, positioning and range of motion.
Classes are starting weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. Please call to register for orientation.
Daytime: 8:00am-4:00pm M-F Classroom 2 weeks
6:30am-2:30pm Clinical for 2 weeks
Evening: 5:00pm-9:30pm M-Th Classroom 4 weeks
3:00pm-9:45pm Clinical for 3 weeks
Weekend: 8:00am-4:00pm S-Su Classroom 5 weekends
6:30am-2:30pm Clinical for 5 weekends
About the Course:
Each class is limited to 20 students and consists of a total of 150 hours. Students will be actively involved in the classroom setting, skills lab, and will complete the practicum in a nursing facility in the community. The course is offered on a monthly basis with a choice of three types of schedules; Daytime, Evening and Weekend classes.
Authorized Duties for CNA 1
Tasks associated with personal care, maintaining mobility, nutrition and hydration, with elimination, use of assistive devices, maintaining environment and client safety, data gathering, recording and reporting.
